Reality and Change – ElPropósito3 min de lectura
Moving forward as soon as we can

As human beings we have enormous abilities, and they add up to our full potential once we strip away everything that interferes with our thinking while we work on a problem. What is that interference? How do we turn down the mental noise? What is it made of, this noise that so often leaves us stuck in analysis paralysis? Part of the answer lies in inspiration, how excited we are about a promising future, and part in passion, how much effort we put into what we do today.
The way we talk to ourselves is key to cutting through the noise. It is striking how, as we trade self-criticism for kinder words (the same words we usually reserve for other people), we start seeing things from a fresh angle and acting with much more confidence and conviction.
Moving forward as soon as we can is one way to accept the reality of the change we are living through. Acceptance comes faster as we reduce the noise that keeps us from bringing all our ideas and abilities to bear on the biggest challenges in front of us. That is exactly what we mean by potential: our best abilities applied to whatever we need to solve.
When we manage to give our best, the impact and progress tend to bring a unique satisfaction and results like no other. We can move very quickly if, and only if, we are convinced that whatever the problem or challenge, we have the skills to get through it, along with the humility to accept help every single time.
How quickly, or how slowly, do we accept change?
Warm regards and all the best,

P.S. Protests that restrict other people’s freedom serve no purpose. Anyone who tramples on the individual freedoms of others carries within them the most sinister spirit of all time: authoritarianism in its smallest unit, the personal one. Anyone who thinks they can hold someone else’s freedom hostage is an authoritarian and a dictator, and anyone who justifies a violent protest is gravely mistaken, blind to their own ignorance of that authoritarianism. In the words of Alberto Benegas Lynch (h):
"Liberalism is unrestricted respect for the life project of others, based on the principle of non-aggression and in defense of the right to life, liberty and property." I firmly reject protests that block other people’s movement, and above all those that deepen division and polarization.
The world and our society will change once we realize that corruption lives at the personal, individual level, inside each of us. It gets fixed from the inside out. Nobody out there is going to solve the problems we fail to see or solve in our own lives, like putting our life in order, guiding our steps by our own life purpose and letting go of the idea that someone else will fix it for us.
I want a free Guatemala where every citizen can pursue their life purpose in freedom, and I hope my small contribution helps build the vision of the nation I have always held. Long live freedom.
