Four Habits That Let Me Fly – ElPropósito2 min de lectura
Flying is one of my passions. Every day I aim to feel that same rush through four habits that serve as my wings

Flying airplanes is one of the hobbies where I find flow. When you experience that state, four things define it: selflessness, timelessness, effortlessness and richness of information. Out of curiosity, I’ve asked people I know are passionate about something (work, hobbies, sports) whether they feel those four states while doing it. Ten out of ten gave me a resounding YES, and then asked: how did you know? I always answer by inviting them to read the book Stealing Fire.
For a long time after reading it, I asked myself: how can I feel like I’m flying in my day? Here are four habits that are my wings. In Spanish they spell ALAS, which means wings:
Gratitude (Agradecimiento): living in constant gratitude has let me enjoy my life much more. Thinking and feeling that everything that comes "happens for a reason," and giving thanks for it (a conversation, an experience, an idea, a hope, reaching a goal, sharing something)
Reading (Lectura): a powerful habit I’ve cultivated since childhood. It has let me dream, live and discover worlds, universes, galaxies, tools and stories, among many other things. It’s without a doubt the habit I recommend most, and every day I encourage more people to take it up
Self-esteem (Autoestima): going through life aware of my strengths, and above all of my areas for growth, has let me, as Branden puts it, feel competent and confident and be able to value and respect myself, knowing that all my qualities together make a unique being with a purpose in this life
Service (Servir): this is what I came into the world to do, and I love doing it every day: serving others
These habits give me the wings to fly and to see the world knowing that everything ends well.
Do you have a habit that makes you feel like you’re flying?
A hug,
