The Best Project – ElPropósito2 min de lectura
The most profitable project of all
Photo by Daria Nepriakhina 🇺🇦 on UnsplashWhat is life without a purpose, a passion, a source of inspiration? Much of what we imagine and design through clear, orderly reasoning gets put into practice when we consciously make decisions, and those decisions are part of the human actions that constantly define and shape us. They belong to one of our most fundamental values: freedom. Reason and freedom are part of our basic software, the one that lets us move forward in life.
An idea without action is a dream, and acting requires decisions, one of the biggest challenges we face again and again. Common sense tells us every decision carries an opportunity cost, so knowing whether a decision is right becomes essential to knowing whether we’re about to do the best that’s in our hands. How to make the right decisions becomes the central question, and the spark that lights the way through life is called purpose.
Working on projects all the time, I’ve always been aware that they have a beginning and an end. In theory, they’re one-off efforts created for a specific objective, and life is precisely the best project we’ll ever be part of. A project is a constant stream of decisions, of using reason and applying the best knowledge we have to finish it, ideally, to spec. Who set, or who sets, the specs for our project? What are its objectives?
The most fundamental questions, the ones we ask deep inside, tend to be the hardest to answer. Yet freedom and reason let us map out every scenario for building our lives. The framework we move in should always include a dose of courage to dare, the wisdom to use reason and a clear purpose to guide us along the way.
What’s your best project? Where did it begin, and when do you think it will end? What are you doing to finish it in the time you’ll have?
Warm regards and all the best,
