Merry Christmas! – ElPropósito2 min de lectura
Today I write to say thank you and to reflect on life

I want to start by thanking everyone who reads what I write each week. Thank you for your replies, advice and suggestions, and above all for the good energy. From my heart: Merry Christmas!
Today is a special day. Today we celebrate Christmas, a celebration of life, love, hope and faith. The end of one year and the start of another are also near, ideal moments to pause along the way and reflect.
Reflection can lead us to a clearer, humbler, more human and deeper way of being in the world, and to living what truly matters, enjoying every second of life and the moments we share with family, or as the tango says: "to feel that life is a breath, that twenty years is nothing, how feverish the gaze."
Today is a day to be willing to share, listen, be present and give thanks. Four things that all come down to giving, and that let us enjoy every detail of this day and every day of our lives.
- Share: time and presence, away from phones, the internet and every distraction. Be close to our family or our inner circle, hug them and feel the warmth, affection and love
- Listen: (paraphrasing Epictetus) to realize we have two ears and one mouth so we can listen twice as much as we speak
- Be present: knowing it’s the only thing that counts and that we can control. The life we’ve lived won’t come back, and the life we haven’t lived yet should only give us hope
- Give thanks: for life, family, health and friends. Give thanks for everything, absolutely everything that has come into our lives, because in some way it is and will be a lasting blessing, a memory, a lesson, and it has a purpose
God bless you, and have a Merry Christmas.
A big hug,
Rodrigo
What is life? A frenzy.
What is life? An illusion,
a shadow, a fiction,
and the greatest good is small:
for all of life is a dream,
and dreams are only dreams.Pedro Calderón de la Barca
