The Switch to Turn On – ElPropósito2 min de lectura

The power of words has to be followed by the intention and purpose behind them. Having the wisdom to trust that the answer to our intentions will come as we invest time and effort takes patience and trust. The room where the solutions are is often dark, yet we know the solution is in there waiting. How do we turn on the light?
As the saying goes, the darkest hour is just before dawn. I’ve been reflecting on the search for opportunities that bring us security and well-being, and along the way I’ve seen, and lived firsthand, people giving up the fight at the very last minute. Often it isn’t a lack of experience. Often it’s a lack of confidence.I picture the search for a solution as a game where at some point (perhaps after researching so much, asking too many questions, thinking long enough) you manage to enter a dark room, a place where reason tells you, "We’re close. Keep going. I can sense the solution is in here." It takes a fine touch to press the right button and turn on the light, the switch that lets us see the full solution to the problem, or the long-awaited answer.
The dark room can become a source of fear and anxiety when there’s no clear purpose. Purpose is the compass for finding our way in the dark, the source of security and courage to keep going despite adversity. The irony of the dark room is that when the light comes on (after fighting to exhaustion), all we see is applause and pats on the back: "Welcome, we were waiting for you. Congratulations on your effort." When the light comes on, we find people who have worked as hard as we have, or harder, to reach a dream, and together we share values and the drive to move forward.
The switch we need is often right in front of us, yet in the darkness, while we search for it, there are many challenges to get through, challenges that will take a superhuman effort to reach everything we long for from the depths of our being. We should never lose the perspective we bring to our biggest dilemmas, the one that keeps in proportion what we can and must do, a perspective only our purpose can give us as we find the switch we need to turn on.
