The Long Road – ElPropósito2 min de lectura

Order in the chaos, and forty years 🙂

There’s no shortcut. Life is a single road with its own timing and its apparent order, and all we do is try to organize, as best we can and by doing what’s in our hands, everything we long for and everything around us. Every tool we use to make sense of what we do only brings a pinch of order to the chaos. Why organize the chaos? Why put things in any kind of order at all?

I dedicate this post to my wife, who gave me the chance to live the first part of my life purpose, "to be the best father," and the second part too, "to be the best husband." Thank you for your love, for bringing our three children into the world with me, and for being the person who helps me bring order to the chaos my life can sometimes be. I also dedicate it to my family for making me who I am, because directly and indirectly you shaped the character and the life that, thanks to God and the Virgin, I have.

I’m endlessly grateful, too, for my friends, the third part of my life purpose, "to be the best friend." I ask your forgiveness for not having been a much better friend, and all I can promise is to do what’s in my hands to keep being one. I welcome these 40 years with deep gratitude, and all I feel is happiness for every person I’ve shared life with, directly or indirectly.

This is a very intimate and personal post. Every word comes from the deepest part of me and from my heart. With them I want to express the immense happiness I feel for life and for the chances I always get to meet wonderful people who have left something in me, and in whom I sincerely hope I’ve left, and will always leave, a little of myself.

Finally, I hope I never come across a shortcut. However many obstacles I find on this long road, may I always be surrounded by good people who help me give my life meaning and bring order to the chaos, and above all may I never lose faith, knowing the best is always yet to come. May God and the Virgin always guide me to do the best I can, and may life keep laying out the long road before me, so that step by step I can always give it my best, bringing order to my ideas, my thoughts and my constant wish to partner with others as they find their purpose in this life.

Warm regards and all the best,
