Inner Energy – ElPropósito2 min de lectura

How do we keep the energy that drives us toward success steady?

There’s a force that fuels our ideas and lifts our mood just from imagining something. There’s another that keeps us focused day after day and gives us the drive to keep fighting no matter what. I’ve been reflecting on both, and I want to share where I’ve landed.

The challenges we’re facing are extremely demanding. They can throw any person, team or organization off balance when change is poorly managed, or when we can’t find the tools to hold a clear north in such complex conditions.

Whatever the circumstances, it helps to remember that searching for meaning, finding happiness and living in harmony are values we’ll always pursue and always fight for, looking for the path, the strategy or the moment that gets us there.

Every day brings opportunities, large and small, to find the source of energy that keeps our drive alive and our desire to keep going. Those moments shape how we meet each day, the ideas we go looking for, the motivation we need to move forward and, most of all, the energy to stay focused.

The hardest part comes from the very essence of nature: chaos. Life is also an ebb and flow of energy that we put to some use, hoping it holds steady over time. And it’s in putting it to use that we discover the meaning of things, so that this core energy, the one that moves everything in the direction we want with the right push, becomes the vital ingredient for getting through any challenge.

Warm regards and all the best,

P.S. This week’s VELA:

  • What I’ve been Viewing: Being happy: how to manage emotions. This lecture was a special find, and above all I feel I’ve discovered a great psychiatrist. Right after watching it I ordered her father’s book, and I’m sure plenty more of her books are headed my way.
  • What I’ve been Listening to: What is coaching? On the Memescuchan podcast, "Meme" interviews Luisa Zamora (a colleague and friend) and me about what coaching is. I hope you enjoy it.
  • What I’ve been Reading: Estados Unidos, La historia. I picked this book back up and I’m just getting into the decades after the Civil War, when the United States industrialized and produced an unmatched wave of innovation.
  • What I’ve been Learning: SNA, Social Network Analysis. A fascinating tool for measuring how closely different groups or stakeholders are connected, how cohesive they are and which groups matter, and why.
