How Radical, Inspiring, Passionate Change Happens – ElPropósito3 min de lectura

If you could learn one thing about yourself that would change your life for good, what would it be? Let’s find out

Radical change calls for radical tools. Feeling confident in your decisions starts with knowing your own resources a little better. My confidence used to come from a book, a course or, more generally, from learning something tied to the change I wanted to make, and there was almost always a gap. Then I discovered my Life Purpose. It’s a single sentence that split my life into before and after, and today it guides my decisions more than any theory I feel I "have" to learn before choosing.

Change shows up in different ways. Sometimes it arrives uninvited and takes over, for better or in ways that test us hard. Other times we set it in motion ourselves, because we want it badly enough to fight for it. That kind of change can also turn out well, or challenge us like never before and still leave us with full, satisfying results.

Either way, the same question comes up: how do we get ready for change? Part of the answer lies in how prepared we believe we are, or want to feel. And there’s one element that lets us feel ready in spite of the natural uncertainty: our Life Purpose.

We all have a Purpose, whether we like it or not. It’s our own answer to why we’re here. When we live in line with it and keep checking our choices against it, life starts to make sense and confidence in our decisions follows naturally.

Purpose shows up in every area of life: health, career, money, service, image and more. Knowing it is a big first step, and learning to live by it is a habit you have to build (in both cases, coaches partner with you through this powerful process). Living a life where you can express your Purpose at every moment means more confidence in your decisions, balance across every area of your life and the discovery that your choices carry meaning.

A few questions to reflect on: What is your Life Purpose? Do you live by it? What would your life look like if it were aligned with a Purpose? If you’re facing a big decision, how would it feel to have your Purpose to measure it against? If your life changed overnight, how would knowing why you’re here help you?

Warm regards, all the best and have a great week,

What I’ve been reading this week:

  • Article: The 3 Elements of Trust. Trust is the foundation of every relationship, so how do you build it? An excellent piece from HBR.
  • Article: Google Says the Best Bosses in the World Do These 10 Things. This one really caught my eye. A lifelong friend sent it to me, and its central idea is that a leader always treats a problem as a chance to learn.
  • Article: The First Thing Great Decision Makers Do. We’re told data and new technology will make decisions far easier. Yet as the oceans of data keep growing, the status quo trap seems to be taking hold (an innovation shows up, but productivity doesn’t improve).
