One of a kind

I’m writing this post as a tribute to everyone who, directly or indirectly, makes it possible for us to live our life purpose. What makes someone like that different? What is the person like who is always there, somehow, along the road of life?

So often we throw ourselves, almost obsessively, into hitting targets, reaching goals and delivering results. Rarely, almost never, do we stop and think about who stood behind us, giving us the unconditional support every purpose needs. It might be a priest who guides us spiritually, a teacher who pushed us in a subject or, in my case, and especially today, my wife.

Today, on the eve of your birthday, I want to wish you a happy birthday, my love. Happy birthday for another year of life, for your health and for the blessing of reaching this beautiful stage. I thank heaven endlessly, because I know our little angel Juan Diego watches over you, protects you and lights your way every day, in every step and every decision. I also thank the Virgin Mary and her husband, Saint Joseph, for always being by your side and letting you be an example as a mother, a wife and a friend.

To me, you are that special person, the very model of someone who shows up in every moment. You stand far above the ordinary, because you treat everyone with a warmth and kindness that go beyond every expectation. You are so extraordinary that all I can ask God is to give you 100 more years, so you can keep lighting up the world. You are light in the darkness, joy in sadness and love in the hardest times. You are everything I ever dreamed of having by my side.

Teamo, princess. I love you so much that I’ll never stop writing those two words as one, because you know exactly what they mean. Thank you from the bottom of my heart. Before I even think about a gift for you, I already feel like the most blessed man in the universe, with the three great gifts life has given us, and even more with the gift of your love. May today be truly special for you, princess, and may every message you receive simply confirm how special you are to the world, and above all to me.
