On the Purpose Behind What We Do – ElPropósito2 min de lectura
How much does a compelling reason to work matter to you?

Working with a coach, I built my life purpose. It’s been one of my most meaningful personal achievements. Today it’s the tool that guides my steps, helps me make decisions, keeps my life on course and, above all, helps me find meaning in my choices.
We need powerful resources that help give meaning to our choices. Once we find the "what for" behind things, we’ll have a compass to guide us as we pursue our goals, and above all it lets us feel truly fulfilled when we reach what we wanted so much.
The most special part is that those resources are inside us, and building them is the key. We all have a mission, a vision and values, and how well we know them will determine how much meaning we find in things.
This week’s resources for going deeper into this powerful topic:
- Video: Encuentra tu propósito en la vida (Find Your Purpose in Life), by Dr. Mario Alonso Puig, on how our longing to fill what we do with meaning comes from who we are, never from what we have
- Article: 9 Out of 10 People Are Willing to Earn Less Money to Do More-Meaningful Work. What I liked most is a 1974 quote: "…the meaning of work should be the equal counterpart of financial compensation"
- Book: Resisting Happiness. A great recommendation from a good friend. It’s about becoming the best version of ourselves and living a life full of purpose
- Movie: Champions (Campeones). Well worth watching. It was recommended to me this week and it’s about a coach with an amazing team, hilarious and full of powerful messages. According to El País, "it is Spain’s candidate for the next Oscars in the best foreign-language film category"

A hug and have an excellent week,
