Two paths that become one

Guatemala, October 26, 2024
Today I want to pause on a word I’ve explored from many angles on this blog: purpose. It holds our deepest motivations and guides people, teams and organizations alike. Today, though, I want to write about purpose from a different place, where reasons and meaning resonate in a special way. Today’s post on purpose is about love. It’s a personal one, and I dedicate it to the person who has walked beside me for the past 12 years, my wife, my princess. She has shared her life with me and has been my partner and one of my greatest inspirations on this journey of finding and living our purpose.
Sometimes we spend our lives looking for a grand purpose without realizing that love itself can be that purpose. When we commit to a relationship built on genuine love, purpose takes shape day by day. To love is to find in the other person a reason to grow, to give and to keep learning. Every day of these 12 years has taught me that love is a feeling and also a choice, a purpose that renews itself. Loving someone means backing their dreams and discovering a shared meaning together. In my life it has been an experience that shaped me, gave me strength and challenged me to be better.
In a relationship, love and purpose are woven together in a way that makes each stronger. What deeper purpose is there than building a life together, facing challenges and growing as individuals and as a team? We’ve found purpose in making a home, in supporting each other and in raising a family together. That commitment is a constant decision to love each other, to respect our individual paths and to care for the one we share.
To those who follow ElPropósito: today you may not be reading a typical post about work, teams or organizational life. I’m convinced, though, that understanding the purpose of our personal relationships is fundamental, because that’s where we discover the meaning of our actions and the real reason that drives us to be better.
To you, my partner, my friend and my inspiration in every moment: thank you for being part of my purpose, for walking beside me and for helping me build a life full of meaning. Today, 12 years on, I see that we’re more than two people sharing a life. We’re a team that supports, challenges and strengthens each other every step of the way. Our road together has been full of joy and of challenges that marked us deeply. The blessing of having children has been one of the most meaningful experiences of our lives, and one of the hardest trials. Losing one of them is a pain we carry in our souls, and it changed us forever. Yet in the middle of that sadness we found renewed purpose in our family, in the children who are with us and in the love that lives on in every memory. Those hard times taught us to hold on more tightly to God and to treasure every day together, knowing that every trial is also a chance to grow and strengthen the love we share.
When we reflect on God’s purpose in our lives, love is without a doubt one of the greatest gifts He has given us. From the beginning, God calls us to love one another and to build relationships that reflect His goodness and grace. In the love I share with my wife I see God at work: a divine purpose that unites us, guides us and teaches us to be better. Love reminds us that we’re not alone and that our purpose reaches beyond ourselves, into service and self-giving. Today, on our anniversary, I celebrate that God’s purpose has brought us here together, and I pray His love will always be at the center of our path. Loving is a purpose in itself, and one of the most beautiful. Thank you for teaching me that and for inspiring me to write in this space every week, which is also part of who we are together. This is my gift to you today: knowing that the greatest purpose, the one that embraces everything, is the love we share. Teamo, princess.
Warm regards and all the best,
Rodrigo Baccaro
