Free Databases in One Place: Data.gov – ElPropósito1 min de lectura
Organized, structured, easy-to-access public data. An excellent resource from the US government and, best of all, free.
What kinds of databases does the site have?
- Energy (production by technology, consumption, projections)
- Climate (effects of climate change)
- Agriculture (production by crop, yields, research)
- Finance and banking (interest rates)
- Trade (commodity prices, trade by country)
- Education
- Health
- Among other topics and examples
It grew out of a federal policy, the Open Data Policy, which states that all data generated by federal agencies, such as the USDA, EIA, Commodity Futures Trading Commission, USGS, USAID, Department of Commerce and Department of the Treasury, should be treated as an asset and made public, to support innovation, entrepreneurship and science in general… MAGNIFICENT.
